Established in 2007 as a two-man fish exporter, Deep Catch Trading has evolved into a respectable Namibian Group of multi-national companies.

Operating from its Head Office in Nickel Street Prosperita, the Deep Catch Group has become a leading supplier and distributor of perishable foods in SADC, employing in excess of 270 nationals in the region.

The group now comprises three distinctive, yet commercially integrating, divisions: –

The Deep Catch Trading division has business units in Namibia and South Africa and is a leading importer of meat and poultry products via Walvis Bay, Cape Town and Durban. Together with these imports and equally significant, this division exports Namibian fish and South African food products for wholesale distribution throughout the SADC region. Customers targeted are commodity food chains, institutional caterers and meat and sausage production factories in countries including Zimbabwe, Zambia, DCR, and the Indian Ocean Islands

Seapride is the group’s foodservice and retail distributor in Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Two branches with refrigerated facilities, one in Prosperita and one in Walvis Bay, supply the hospitality, foodservice and retail industry throughout Namibia. A delivery fleet of 36 refrigerated trucks and vans reach restaurants, hotels, lodges and shopping malls from Katima Mulilo to Oranjemund and Noordoewer with a comprehensive basket of food, wines and beverages. Lancewood Cheese, MCain Frozen Vegetables and Rich Pasties are a few of the South African brands distributed while Hangana Namibian Fish Products and Namib Poultry are the Namibian food producers that have entrusted Seapride to take their brands to market.

Seapride Zimbabwe is based in Harare and services customers in Kariba, Bulawayo and Vic Falls weekly

Seapride South Africa consolidates procurement in Cape Town and takes care of the logistics to Namibia and Zimbabwe

The support service division of the Deep Catch Group comprises Prosperita Commercial Cold Store in Prosperita and Atlantic Commercial Cold Store in Walvis Bay.
Both these facilities, with a joint capacity to handle 12,000 pallets of frozen product, offer the group, as well as commercial customers, the ideal cold storage and logistic solutions. To compliment this Camel Thorn Freight Forwarders in Walvis Bay offers excellent provision of cargo clearing, shipping and forwarding services.

Recently established, to support the distribution of the groups’ products is Active Sales and Merchandising
Created primarily to drive the group brand with innovative graphic design, marketing expertise and social media exposure, this business also manages the merchandising of product on retailer customers’ shelves. Active will also be prepared to offer its’ merchandising service to third party suppliers in the retail space.

The group is poised and ready to grow its brand in the emerging markets of Southern Africa and the Middle East. A cold store facility in Cape Town and operations in Zambia and Dubai are in sight on the horizon. Capital for growth was successfully concluded by subscription of a minority portion of the groups’ equity to German Investment Corporation DEG, in April 2016.
